To cross the Atlantic onboard a raft made up of recycled material and junk is not only possible - it might even be a nice experience. A raft is usually associated to something you build as a child or something primitive and simple. The log was probably the first oceangoing vessel, after that the raft. As shipbuilding has progressed the raft has been something for the shipwrecked and the desperate refugee. This project wants to show that the raft can be a safe and fun way of approaching the sea and adventures out there in the world

Experimentaly designed by design students. Built by amateurs. At least 15 meters long. Driven by sail (or paddels). Only using recycled material and garbage. Decorated by artists. Prepared for staying long periods at sea. Room for 10 people. Low tech and easy maintenance.
